Tampopo Group, a restaurant group specializing in artisanal ramen, welcomes Pays de la Loire Croissance 2 (PLC2), a fund managed by Turenne Groupe, as a new shareholder. The transaction, primarily structured as a capital increase, is intended to finance the group’s development plan over the next five years.
A group built around an integrated model
Founded in Nantes in 2017 by Anthony and Morgane Nguyen, Tampopo Group operates a portfolio of seven Japanese restaurants across three distinct brands: Ramen Ya (in Nantes, Saint-Herblain, Rennes, and Vannes), Tori Ya (in Nantes), and Ikimasho (in Nantes and Rennes). The group is supported by its central kitchen, “Ramen Lab”, and shared support functions under Ramen Sabisu. Tampopo Group currently employs 108 people and generated €7 million in revenue in 2025, having achieved annual growth of 35% since 2020.
Based in Saint-Herblain on a 1,000 m² site, Ramen Lab produces and packages all ingredients supplied to the group’s restaurants, including broths, tare sauces, fresh noodles, meat products, and gyozas. Currently undergoing expansion to reach a total surface area of 1,800 m², the facility will soon have the capacity to supply around twenty additional restaurants.
A development plan built around three strategic pillars
The funds invested by PLC2 will be used to finance the group’s growth through three key initiatives: the opening of company-owned restaurants across Western France and in metropolitan areas with populations exceeding 200,000; the development of a franchise network in towns with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants, supplied exclusively by Ramen Lab; and the expansion of a B2B distribution business providing premium Japanese products, including broths, noodles, and condiments, to third-party operators.
The group aims to build a network of around twenty restaurants by 2030, with a target revenue exceeding €20 million. As part of this transaction, the founders also plan to open the company’s share capital to managers. This initiative will be supported by the investment team at Turenne Groupe, which has a strong commitment to employee share ownership.
Anthony Nguyen, Co-Founder and CEO of Tampopo Group:
“PLC2’s investment alongside us is a recognition of the work accomplished so far and provides us with the means to accelerate our growth. Our ambition is to make Tampopo Group the leading ramen network in France, both through company-owned restaurants and franchising.”
Julie Gadois, Investment Director at PLC2 – Turenne Groupe:
“Tampopo Group’s growth trajectory reflects its management team’s ability to combine conceptual innovation with a strong commitment to quality in a highly demanding restaurant industry. This is precisely the type of company that PLC2 is designed to support. We believe the future prospects are at least as compelling as the achievements already delivered. Ramen Lab currently has significant spare capacity, and the ongoing expansion will serve as a long-term
