Terra D'oro (amador County) Moscato 2023

Terra d'Oro Moscato White Wine achieves all the aspects that make a white wine approachable, yet sophisticated. Displaying a stunning golden hue in the glass, this Moscato wine is vibrant with inviting aromas of honey, white peach, pineapple and lemon zest that lead into vibrant flavors of Meyer lemon, pineapple and a hint of anise. This white wine has a pleasing viscosity on the palate, and finishes with a fresh acidity. More than a dessert wine, this sweet white wine is exceptionally versatile, balancing sugar with acidity and delivering a long, smooth finish. For a delicious meal, serve this sweet Moscato wine with crab cakes or lobster. Terra d’Oro Moscato grapes are hand-picked from vineyards in the Northern Sacramento Valley. The vineyard’s combination of well-drained, sandy soil and steep hillside plantings stresses the vines just enough to ensure a light crop of ripe, intensely perfumed fruit. After harvest, destemming, crushing and gentle pressing, 70% of the juice is inoculated with yeast. The remaining unfermented juice is kept at a very low temperature and then added back into the blend after fermentation to create a lightly sweet and refreshing white moscato with a lower alcohol content.
