La Estancia 2022 is a genuinely rare release: a true Extra Añejo from Tequila Ocho, aged a full three years in seasoned American whiskey barrels — a significant step up from the brand's standard 1-year Añejo — made entirely from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from Rancho La Estancia in the Jalisco Highlands during the 2022 vintage. Since Ocho deliberately avoids blending for year-to-year consistency, this specific estate and vintage combination will never be recreated once it sells out. Bottled at 40% ABV. Expect roasted agave, vanilla, oak, and caramel on the nose, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee developing as it opens in the glass, moving into a rich palate of cooked agave, butterscotch, cinnamon, and toasted wood, finishing long and elegant with lingering oak and warm agave sweetness. A splash of water is said to soften the oak further and bring forward more honey and orange peel.
