Our annual move-in season Double IPA serves as a PSA to warn against the Boston phenomenon of lodging a box truck under a low clearance overpass on Storrow Drive. While it's a sporadic episode that can snarl traffic for hours, most of these incidents occur during college move-in weekend, typically around Labor Day. Be sure to heed the low clearance warnings at the Storrow Drive entry points!
The 2022 Storrowed recipe has been tweaked slightly, replacing Strata with a hop we're quite fond of lately in Kohatu. The resulting Double IPA presents itself with a deeply hazy, warm yellow/orange hue. Leading with a dank nose of fresh pineapple and a melange of stone fruit, the palate follows with intensely juicy flavors of overripe mango, canned pear, grapefruit peel, and sweet pear. That kiss of sweetness is balanced by a gentle and resinous bitterness to round out Storrowed as a smooth, delicious, and drinkable Double IPA.
